Varmint plagues have historically run in cycles in Australia, especially in the wheat growing belts of the country. There have periodically been locust plagues followed by a mice plague, followed by an increase in the snake population. One species feeds and then increases in numbers. A few hard frosts will quell the mouse plague. I have lived through a couple of them in north west Victoria. Mice everywhere, climbing into your car through the air vents at night; you could watch scores of them walking on wires, etc., all through one's house if not almost hermetically sealed. The next year, a massive increase in snakes, which of course feasted on the mice and bred up accordingly. This is nothing new.
How timely is this - since I just saw this as well: “Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome” Was Listed as a Possible Covid Vaccine Side Effect in Pfizer’s Monitoring Documents - wonder just how much more they put into that soup of evil!
Chickens happily eat mice. Need to unleash a big flock of chickens as part of pest control measures.
Probably all of the above. Feral cats needed, lol. Plus the drought following the excess rain had an impact on this. All part of the plan.
