The good news for the world, back then, that it appears the Agency employed dedicated folk that actually did their jobs in an independent manner. I no longer have that confidence confirmed by the recent debacle that was the warp speed disaster that again has world wide consequences and the absence of any due diligence by the worlds drug safety agencies that rubber stamped a treatment that was only allowed distribution because of a dodgy Emergency declaration promoted by the Pharma sponsored WHO. Thalidomide at least generated the much needed closer attention to using toxicity trials in animals to flush out any Pharmaceutical issues with regard to potential birth defects.
