Why is bird flu in cattle? My husband has over 50 yrs research as virologist/immunologist, worked in Public Health Dept. for many yrs - he says bird flu shouldn't be crossing species. That means either someone is lying or bird flu has been weaponized on purpose. Small possibility it has evolved into infecting cattle but that would be rare. Only birds I know of that interact with cattle are egrets but I've never seen egrets on the backs of cattle where they might eat insects - I've lived in rural areas where cattle are raised. Anyone else know anything about birds interacting with cattle?

Birds and cattle don't interact much to my knowledge, so why is bird flu showing up in cattle?
