how can US be low on weapons supplies when massive amounts of money flows to the military industrial complex your post makes no sense to me and you have no references to back your claims.
US produces weapons for commercial purposes. Weapons are overly expensive, overly complicated and overly out-of-date now. when the production of weapons is commercial, the private producers allocate factories to produce demanded products as efficient as possible. If demand raises, these factories cannot scale up, but more factories need to be set up. factories are only set up after the contracts have been secured, and that can take years going through all the planning and consenting.
Russia has no privatised weapons industry, weapons are produced at lower costs, the factories that are not needed in peace time are not dismantled and reused for other productions. Therefore when demand raises, Russia can much faster ramp up production.
Western stocks of machinery and and ammunition have depleted for that reason.
