Fears cyber attack will disrupt supply chain operations
A cyber attack has crippled one of Australia’s largest port operators.
There are fears the massive supply chain shock could cause price rises and inflation ahead of the holiday season.
The attack on DP World occurred last Friday and several ports are still experiencing technical issues, particularly Port Botany and Fremantle.
Reportedly, operations are starting to return to normal in Brisbane and Melbourne ports.
The timing of the cyber attack has raised concerns the lingering issues might not be resolved in time for Christmas, a frequently busy season for the port operators.
