BREAKING: IRAN WAR RESTARTS, TRUMP BOMBS HORMUZ
UPDATED AGAIN 8:16 PM EDT -- United States is Attacking Iran
The armed forces of the United States are attacking the Islamic Republic of Iran at this hour, bombing Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf as seen in the still image above.
More details as I get them.
UPDATE 6:44 PM EDT --
US. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson says he was in the White House Situation Room with President Trump and top officials before U.S. forces launched what were described as self-defense strikes against Iran. Johnson calls the operation “proportional and limited,” targeting radar, missile and command-and-control sites.
UPDATE 6:48 PM EDT --
CONFIRMED! The US is attacking Iran, on Trump’s orders.
Intense fighter jet activity has been reported right now over Basrah, in southern Iraq, in several areas of northern Iraq, and in southern Syria. U.S. Fighter jets accompanied by air-refueling tankers.
In all of this, tensions are rising sharply after Iran ALLEGEDLY shot down a US Apache helicopter and warned US forces to leave the region. Iran DENIES it show down a US Helicopter last night.
US (and possibly allied) aircraft are clearly active in Iraqi and Syrian airspace, right on Iran’s doorstep. The airspace over Iraq and Syria is once again turning into a major operational area.
FROM U.S. CENTRAL COMMAND (CENTCOM)
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET today at the Commander in Chief’s direction, in response to yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.
-- Explosions heard in the area of Sirik in southern Iran, according to locals -Mehr
-- Five blasts reported in southern Qeshm Island, Iran
-- Several points in southern Hormozgan Province and one point around Bandar Abbas were targeted by missile strikes. - Ilia Hashemi
6:54 PM EDT -- Airstrikes targeting Iran are “ongoing” and targets include air defenses and radar installations.
-- The countries of Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain have CLOSED their airspace.
6:56 PM EDT -- Iran has announced they will give a “decisive” military response to the US attacks tonight, according to IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency
-- Iran’s IRGC says a direct “heavy response” against the US will be launched in the coming moments, with initial drone units now being deployed to launch positions. Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE have raised alertness to the maximum level as they expect Iranian retaliation attacks on US bases on their soil.
-- U.S. officials said the attacks are continuing and that they are preparing for several rounds of strikes.

UPDATE 7:00 PM EDT --
Iranian opposition sources are reporting preliminary details on the targets allegedly struck by U.S. forces in Iran a short while ago:
Sirik Naval Base
Jask Naval Base
Air defense systems in Bandar Abbas
Coastal missile battery in Minab
Coastal missile battery on Qeshm Island
Port facilities on Qeshm Island
The reported strikes are taking place in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.
UPDATE 7:11 PM EDT --
Now being told the “first wave” of US attacks has completed. Earlier, I was told there “would be several waves of US attacks.
Iran response already on the way - drones launched. Missile launches expected within minutes.
UPDATE 7:46 PM EDT --
During its attack, the United States reportedly struck TWO (2) Fresh-water Storage Tanks in Sirik, Iran.
If this is verified, then the US has just given Iran the green light to do the exact same thing to countries hosting US military bases.
7:52 PM EDT -- The attack upon drinking water storage tanks is now CONFIRMED by IRIB which reports all drinking water in the District of Sirik is now cut-off.
As a result of what the U.S. has just done, Iran has warned it will immediately place all regional Gulf energy infrastructure under continuous missile fire, and with this US attack, water desalination infrastructure which the Gulf depends on for over 90%, will specifically become major targets.
The moment any of the desalination plants in these GCC countries are hit, they will effectively cease to exist as functioning states.
Hal Turner Snap Analysis
If Iran targets either the desalination plants or the energy infrastructure, any hope of a deal to re-open the Strait of Hormuz won’t matter at all. Without water, there can’t be crews working in the refineries or oil pumping areas, and if the energy infrastructure is hit, there will be NO OIL from the Middle east . . . for years.
The global economy will completely implode within months.
UPDATE 8:16 PM EDT --
A SECOND WAVE of U.S. attacks upon Iran, has commenced.
Explosions in Qeshm, Bandar Abbas, Minab, and SIrik (again)
All Quiet as of 8:28 PM EDT
UPDATE 8:37 PM EDT --
THIRD WAVE of U.S. Attacks upon Iran has commenced.
This wave reported “much larger.” First two waves seemed to focus on coastal radar and missile emplacements.
Third Wave said to involved “massive number of fighter jets” and they are reportedly now operating “through all of western Iran.
“We will target the infrastructure belonging to the American enemy, the Zionist enemy, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and their partners in a way that will deprive America and its allies of the region's oil and gas for years”
I would want to see wide confirmation of this!
A nuclear test?

From yesterday
Iran’s New Policy Could Be a Middle East Game Changer
9 June 2026
Iran says it will no longer wait for threats, declaring new strategic regional defense doctrine, so says Sadeq Larijani. Larijani is a prominent Iranian Shia cleric, conservative politician, and senior regime figure. He is best known for serving as Chief Justice (Head of the Judiciary) of Iran from 2009 to 2019 and as Chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council since late 2018. His now deceased brother, Ali Larijani, was the Speaker of the Parliament and National Security advisor to the Ayatollah before he was killed by Israel. The Larijanis are clerical and political royalty in Iran.
As the current head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, chairman Larijani announced that Tehran’s intervention in support of Lebanon constitutes a formal declaration of a new strategic doctrine. Under the terms of this doctrine, attacks on any component of the Resistance Axis (Hezbollah and the Palestinians) will trigger an Iranian response that extends beyond geographical boundaries and reshapes regional equations.
Larijani explained that Iran has entered a new phase in which it no longer waits for threats to emerge before acting to preserve its regional position, but instead will take the initiative. He also warned that any expansion of the conflict or attack on critical Iranian infrastructure would be met with a comprehensive and deterrent response.
This introduces a new, dynamic variable into the calculus of the Levant. This marks the first time since the founding of the Islamic Republic in 1979 that Iran has committed itself to taking military action on behalf of Hezbollah and the Lebanese people, and the Palestinians. The conservative Israeli newspaper, Israel Hayom, reported that security officials admitted Israel did not expect Iran to fully follow through on threats, viewing it as a miscalculation. There was noted frustration that Iran dictated terms via the new “equation” and that Israel faced pressure (including from the U.S./Trump) to limit its response to avoid full war.
Israel continued its attacks in southern Lebanon on Monday, hitting the city of Tyre and killing more civilians. So far, Iran has not reacted. If Israel continues these attacks we will find out if Mr. Larijani was making an idle threat or if Iran is serious about punishing Israel with a new barrage of missiles for its attacks on the Lebanese civilians.
Meanwhile, Iran’s UN Ambassador confirmed today that Pakistan is playing a central role in trying to broker a peace deal between Iran and the United States. Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir-Saeid Iravani said:
We have not yet reached the final text, but we are pursuing it.
The US and Iran are providing and exchanging views and opinions to reach the final text through Pakistan.
This partially confirms the story that Pepe Escobar and I broke last Monday and conforms with Donald Trump’s recent claim that the US and Iran are closing in on an agreement to end the war. This also explains why Israel, according to a recent NY Times report, has intensified its spying on key members of the Trump administration in order to ferret out the details of the proposed agreement. Trump’s former lawyer, Robert Barnes, told the Jim Webb podcast today that US and Iranian negotiators had reached consensus on six separate MOU’s during the last three months and that Trump has rejected every one at the last minute. We’ll see if this one makes it over the finish line.
